In They're Working on Their Own, Just Side by Side they tell the story of how coworking started and has grown into an international movement, citing The Werks as an example. In Inspiration Strikes Only a Desk Away they talk about the cross pollination of ideas that occurs when people cowork.  Great link. When it reaches the NY Times, mass-market appeal is sure to follow, though doubtless we lag behind our East Coast cousins across the pond.
