Welcome to

SoCo Depot: Sonoma County Coworking

We moved in April 14 and all of the painting has been done. It's filled up with desks. It's a ton of work and the experiment part of starting a new coworking space is very evident. (Will this work? Will we have fun & be productive? Who's going to make the coffee?) If you would like a tour email info (at) socodepot (dot) come. Our address is 11790 Main St. Penngrove. There is now a somewhat outdated slide show of the space, but it shows the space and the old color of the walls.

Our space at the Penngrove Station, SoCo Depot, is in downtown Penngrove, a small town in southern Sonoma County. The building is an old, tin-clad, wooden building. Most recently our space was used to print T-shirts. Originally it was built to transfer chickens, eggs, milk, and other produce to freight cars going to San Francisco. There are wide rolling metal doors on each side of the building, spaced the same distance as the doors of the freight cars. The building was also used at some point as the train station—our space has the walk-up ticket window. The building is the perfect balance of funky with exposed beams, high ceilings, 80 year old wood floors with all new wiring, plumbing, and insulation.

SoCo Depot has 1600 sq ft. It's an newsroom-style open floor plan like CitizenSpace (most of us were surprised how much we liked the setup). There's a conference room, bathroom, and a space for making coffee and tea. It's right next to the community park and across fromthe post office and cafés. Right now we have ten people—our original goal. The monthly cost is $230 a month. We'll be starting a waiting list for permanent and temporary coworkers, so let us know if you're interested in joining us.

If you are interested and/or want more information email info (at) SoCoDepot (dot) com or call 707.795.0515. You can also join our group listserv at Google Groups, SoCo-coworking It's a closed group so email me at Anthony (at) SoCoDepot (dot) com to be put on the list.

We will be scheduling an open house and a Grotto-inspired party. Watch this space for more info.

Please pass the word. We still need to get the information out to the existing social networks. The south county is rich with home-based workers.
